We’re here and listening

At Twig, we are in an observing phase when it comes to issues in our community in which people may be divided. We are listening, watching, researching, reading, taking notes, reflecting, and critically thinking. There are so many ways to get it wrong when given a platform like podcasts, newspapers, and other outlets, and we would rather take our time and get it as right and as fair as we can with YOUR help.

We also have been moving in the direction of having community members “speak” for themselves on these issues that most directly affect them. Think more open forum and discussion than op-ed. Just know we are following everything, and feel free to contact us with stories and issues you would like to see covered and featured. We also hope to have more polls and resources for community members to have their voices heard. We are not here to promote exposé journalism necessarily, but we do believe transparency, acknowledgement, and hearing out all sides is the first step toward change and progress. Anyone who knows our editor knows she has strong beliefs, but Twig is and never will be about one person, one view, or one voice.
